Mission

POWERING STUDENT’S FUTURES WITH ENTREPRENEURSHIP

CUNY Startups Mission

CUNY Startups mission is to dramatically improve the social mobility of CUNY students through entrepreneurship, while stimulating business growth and economic development in New York City.

We launched in 2014 as a CUNY program to provide central entrepreneurship resources to all 270,000 students across the 25 colleges. We are located at Baruch College, one of eleven senior colleges within CUNY, where a dynamic community educates one of the most diverse student populations in the US.  Baruch College provides an inclusive, transformational education in the arts and sciences, business, and public and international affairs to students from New York and around the world and creates new knowledge through scholarship and research.

Through our three programs: New Venture Accelerator 1 (NVA1), New Venture Accelerator 2 (NVA2) and CUNY Clash, we foster diverse student and volunteer engagement through broad and meaningful recruitment and outreach to traditionally marginalized groups. Students learn the skills they need to propel their careers through a combination of instruction, mentorship and practice.
